Archery (Statewide)

  • August 30 – September 30, 2025

Muzzleloader

  • October 1–10, 2025 (most units)

General Rifle (Whitetail & Mule Deer)

  • October 10 – November 20, 2025 (season length varies by unit/zone)

Youth Deer Season

  • September 20–21, 2025

Idaho Elk Seasons 2025-2026

Archery Elk

  • August 30 – September 30, 2025 (statewide)

Muzzleloader Elk

  • September 6–14, 2025 (general units)

General Rifle Elk

  • October 15 – November 20, 2025 (general units; varies by zone)

Idaho Turkey Seasons 2025-2026

Fall Turkey

  • September 1 – November 30, 2025 (archery); October 1 – November 30, 2025 (shotgun; select units)

Spring Youth Turkey

  • April 11–13, 2026

Spring General Turkey

  • April 15 – May 25, 2026

Idaho Bear & Mountain Lion 2025-2026

Black Bear – Spring

  • April 15 – June 15, 2026 (bait prohibited in some units)

Black Bear – Fall

  • August 30 – November 30, 2025

Idaho Deer Hunting Seasons 2025-2026

Idaho deer seasons vary significantly by Game Management Unit (GMU). The dates below represent general statewide frameworks – always verify your specific unit with IDFG before hunting.

Archery Season

  • General Archery (most units): August 30 – December 24, 2025
  • Select units (8, 11, 13–16, 18, 21, 29, 30): August 30 – December 31, 2025
  • White-tailed Deer Short-Range Weapon: Begins October 10, 2025 (end dates vary by unit)

General Any-Weapon (Rifle) Season

  • General Season: September 15 – October 31, 2025 (most units)
  • Some units extend beyond October 31 – check unit-specific rules
  • White-tailed Deer (Units 1, 2, 3, 4A, 5, 6): October 10 – December 1, 2025
  • Unit 10A extended: Through December 1, 2025

Muzzleloader Season

  • General Muzzleloader (most units): November 10 – December 1, 2025
  • Unit 10A: December 2–11, 2025
  • Mule Deer (varies by unit): August 30 – December 31, 2025

Idaho Turkey Hunting Seasons 2025-2026

Spring Turkey Season 2025

  • Youth Only (Male or Bearded): April 8–14, 2025
  • Regular Season (Male or Bearded): April 15 – May 25, 2025

Fall Turkey Season 2025-2026

  • Either-Sex (most units): August 30, 2025 – January 31, 2026
  • Select GMUs (1, 2, 3, 4, 4A, 5, 6, 7 & 9): August 20, 2025 – January 31, 2026

Spring Turkey Season 2026

  • Youth Only: April 8–14, 2026
  • Regular Season: April 15 – May 25, 2026
  • Controlled hunt applications: February 1 – March 1, 2026

Note: Crossbows and airguns (within caliber limits) may be used to hunt turkeys and other game birds in Idaho.
