Alaska Deer Hunting Seasons 2025-2026

Sitka Black-tailed Deer (Southeast Alaska – Units 1–5)

  • Archery: August 1 – December 31, 2025 (varies by unit; some areas year-round)
  • General (any legal weapon): August 1 – December 31, 2025 (dates and bag limits vary by GMU)

Deer (Prince of Wales & Nearby Islands – Unit 2)

  • August 1 – December 31, 2025 (bucks and does; varies by subunit)

Alaska Moose Hunting Seasons 2025-2026

Moose (Southcentral – Unit 14A, Anchorage Area)

  • Antlered bull archery: September 5–20, 2025
  • General: September 5–20, 2025 (antlered bull, permit required for some areas)

Moose (Interior – Unit 20)

  • Bull season: September 1–20, 2025
  • Cow season (permit): varies by subunit, typically October

Alaska Caribou Hunting Seasons 2025-2026

Caribou (Unit 26B – Western Arctic Herd)

  • August 1, 2025 – March 31, 2026 (residents only; bull and cow with restrictions)

Alaska Brown/Black Bear Seasons 2025-2026

Black Bear (Statewide)

  • Open year-round in most units with bag limit restrictions

Brown Bear (Unit 9 – Alaska Peninsula)

  • October 1–20, 2025 and April 1–May 15, 2026 (registration permit required)
